PROTECTION Alpinestars' crash detection triggering algorithm developed and refined through over 2 million kilometers of riding data and more than 2000 crashes allows the system to accurately assess when to deploy the airbag ahead of an impact or in dangerous situations such as a lowside or highside crash. Should Tech-Air 3® detect the start of a crash it activates the protective airbag in milliseconds with the activation time depending on the airbag's size. Once inflated the airbag provides full upper body protection by uniquely covering the rider's entire chest and back ensuring safety for motorcycle riders.
