The Garmin Montana® 710i Rugged GPS Touchscreen Navigator with inReach® Technology is built for confident navigation and communication across a wide range of adventures, from hiking and cycling to paddling and ATV travel. With preloaded worldwide topographical mapping and City Navigator® street mapping for North America, Montana 710i supports seamless transitions between trail travel and turn-by-turn road guidance. Add inReach capabilities with an active inReach subscription for two-way messaging, interactive SOS, and tracking via the 100% global Iridium® satellite network.
Connectivity
With an active inReach subscription, Montana 710i supports two-way text messaging, location sharing, and tracking without relying on cellphone coverage. Messages, SOS, and tracking transfer through the 100% global Iridium® satellite network, helping keep contacts informed when travel goes off grid.
Display
A 5-inch WVGA transflective touchscreen is designed for outdoor use and supports dual orientation. The large format makes it easier to view maps, route details, and terrain information at a glance, whether the device is used on foot or paired with a compatible mount setup (sold separately).
Navigation
Montana 710i comes preloaded with TopoActive maps (by region) and City Navigator street mapping for North America. With 32 GB of onboard memory plus support for a 32 GB max microSD™ card, it also makes it easy to expand mapping for different trips, including optional maps sold separately.
Durability
Montana 710i is tested to meet MIL-STD 810 for thermal, shock, water and vibration, and it carries an IPX7 water rating. The lens uses chemically strengthened glass, and the device is designed to handle real-world use across varied environments. For different riding and driving setups, it is compatible with a variety of robust mounting solutions (sold separately) to help tailor the navigator to the activity.
Connectivity
High-resolution satellite imagery can be downloaded directly to the device over Wi-Fi® connectivity with no imagery subscription required. These overhead views help add visual context to routes and surrounding terrain, and they can simplify creating waypoints using recognizable landmarks. For expanded mapping options, Montana 710i also supports an Outdoor Maps+ subscription (sold separately), delivering premium mapping content and updates to the device via Wi-Fi technology.
Navigation
For reliable positioning and guidance, Montana 710i supports GPS and Galileo satellite networks and includes ABC sensors for outdoor travel. A tilt-compensated 3-axis electronic compass supports directional awareness, while the barometer helps monitor weather and the altimeter provides elevation data. When it is time to return, mapping and navigation tools such as point-to-point navigation and TracBack® help support efficient route management.
