The SHOEI Transitions® CWR-1 Transitions® Pinlock® Ready Face Shield is a light-adapting replacement shield made for SHOEI RF-SR and RF-SR2 helmets. Its Transitions® technology automatically changes tint with lighting conditions, helping maintain comfortable visibility from bright daylight to lower-light situations.
Built with advanced 3D injection molding for an optically correct view, it’s shaped for distortion-free clarity and designed to handle wind pressure with added rigidity from structural ribs. The updated locking mechanism is intended to provide secure closure at speed. This shield is also Pinlock® ready and works with the Pinlock® CWR-1/CW-1/CNS-1 Lens Insert (sold separately) for clear vision in humid or cold riding conditions.
Transitions® technology lets the shield adjust to changing light on its own, adding tint in brighter conditions and clearing in lower light. It fades to 50% transmission in two minutes, and it includes a UV filter rated at >99% to help reduce UV exposure while riding.
Advanced 3D injection molding is used to create an optically correct shield with a wide, clear field of view. The molding process and shape are intended to deliver distortion-free clarity while also supporting long-term durability in everyday use.
Structural ribs are integrated into the shield to improve rigidity against wind pressure. An upgraded locking mechanism is designed to add dependable security when the shield is closed, helping keep the shield positively latched during rides.

This CWR-1 shield uses Transitions® photochromic technology to respond automatically to ambient light changes, darkening in brighter environments and clearing as conditions dim. The specification note indicates it fades to 50% transmission in two minutes, supporting smoother adaptation when moving between sun and shade. A UV filter rated at >99% is also specified to help block UV rays through the shield surface.
Fitment
For riders who encounter cold mornings, humidity, or rapid temperature shifts, this face shield is Pinlock® ready. It is compatible with the Pinlock® CWR-1/CW-1/CNS-1 Lens Insert (sold separately), which is intended to help maintain clearer vision in humid or cold riding conditions by pairing the shield with the appropriate insert.
