The Alpinestars SMX Air Jacket is a street motorcycle riding jacket built for warm-weather use, with a lightweight feel and a sport-focused fit for everyday riding. It’s designed to work equally well for commuting and weekend rides, pairing high airflow zones with a streamlined layout that supports freedom of movement on the bike.
For added adaptability, the SMX Air Jacket includes a detachable windproof liner and a dedicated waterproof compartment for stowing essentials.
A tech mesh main chassis is used across the abdomen, back, and inner arms to promote strong airflow during warm rides. For added durability in higher-wear zones, the jacket reinforces key areas with perforated 450D polyfabric on the chest, outer arms, and shoulders, keeping the overall design focused on hot-weather street riding.
Strategic stretch inserts on the side torso and upper back, plus extended polyamide stretch panels through the back, shoulders, and sides, help the jacket move with the rider in a sport riding position. An ergonomic design supports flexibility, while waist adjusters let the fit be dialed in for comfort on daily rides.
DFS Lite external shoulder sliders add an extra protective element on the outside of the shoulder. The jacket is fully CE certified to EN 17092-4:2020 A Class for on-road riding use.
To better handle changing conditions, the SMX Air Jacket includes a detachable windproof liner (windbreaker liner) that can be added or removed as needed. This combination helps the jacket stay versatile for street riders who see cool mornings, warm afternoons, and everything in between.
An updated inner construction is designed to allow back protector upgrades.
