The Alpinestars ST-1 Waterproof Jacket is an adventure riding jacket built for long-distance road touring and changing conditions. It’s designed around consistent comfort on the bike, pairing a fixed waterproof liner with chest vent panels intended to increase airflow and help manage temperature on the move.
A comfort-focused touring fit, pre-curved arms, and ergonomic elbows support natural reach to the controls, while multiple adjustment points at the biceps, collar, cuffs, and waist help fine-tune the fit. Storage is set up for travel, including expandable cargo pockets and a large lower back cargo pocket that can hold the thermal liner when it’s removed.
For wet-weather travel, the ST-1 uses a fixed waterproof liner for dependable coverage in changing conditions. To help prevent the jacket from feeling closed-in on warmer stretches, vent panels on the chest are designed to move cooling air across a larger surface area for air exchange, supporting riding comfort over long distances.
Temperature range is expanded with a detachable thermal liner featuring 80g insulation in the torso and 80g in the sleeves. The liner anchors to the jacket with snap button connections and can be removed as conditions change, then stored in the large lower back cargo pocket. Fit can be dialed in at the biceps, collar, cuffs, and waist.
Impact protection comes from CE Level 1 rated Nucleon Flex Plus armor at the shoulders and elbows. The ST-1 Waterproof Jacket is fully CE certified as a motorcycling garment to CE - Category II EN 17092-4:2020 – A Class, and it also lists CE Level 1 Nucleon Flex Plus impact protection, Category II EN 17092-6:2020 – C Class Impact.

The ST-1 is set up for riders who carry essentials on day rides and multi-day travel. It uses ergonomic cargo pockets with a slim profile and built-in expansion to add capacity when needed. Additional storage includes expandable front cargo pockets, a zippered chest pocket, inner mesh pockets (including one waterproof pocket), and a rear cargo pocket for items that are better kept out of the wind.
Construction
This jacket is built with Tech-Air® Ready construction, allowing it to work with compatible Tech-Air® systems (sold separately). For a more sealed setup on the bike, it also includes a pant connection zipper designed to help prevent wind ingress when paired with the ST-1 Waterproof Pants.
