The Alpinestars T SP-5 Rideknit Jacket is a street-focused textile motorcycle riding jacket built around a hard-wearing poly-fabric chassis and a knitted, body-mapped design for a close, sport-oriented fit. Knitted seam areas are used to add stretch where riders need it, helping comfort and mobility on the bike.
For protection, it comes equipped with Level 1 Nucleon Flex Plus armor at the shoulders and elbows, and it also features DFS Lite shoulders with a dynamic friction shield. The jacket is Tech-Air 5® ready and is described as fully optimized for use with or without Tech-Air5® (sold separately).
Comfort
A knitted design textile construction with a body-mapped fit helps the jacket sit close in a sports profile. Knitted seams are used to increase stretchability, supporting comfort and movement in common riding positions. A low-profile sports collar with soft lining keeps the fit streamlined while adding comfort at the neck.
Shield
The T SP-5 Rideknit Jacket includes Level 1 Nucleon Flex Plus armor in the shoulders and elbows. For added exterior detail at the shoulders, it also features DFS Lite shoulder components with a dynamic friction shield. The jacket is a fully CE-certified riding garment to CE-Category II prEN 17092 standards — A class.
Fitment
An elongated rear hem adds coverage, and the jacket uses a large tooth main zipper for the primary closure. Hook-and-loop adjustments at the waist and cuffs pair with a semi-automatic zip for a secure, dialed-in fit. Loops are included to allow attachment to Alpinestars riding pants.
Comfort
Designed with Tech-Air 5® readiness in mind, this jacket is described as fully optimized for riding with or without Tech-Air5® (sold separately). Stretch panel inserts are used to accommodate the Alpinestars Airbag System, and knitted technology fabric at the seam areas is intended to maximize stretchability for fit and comfort when worn in a sports riding position.
