The Garmin Approach® S44 in the Silver Aluminum Bezel with Black Silicone Band configuration is a GPS golf smartwatch built for players who want fast, easy-to-read yardages and simple scorekeeping on the course.
A bright 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen helps keep key information clear, including distance to the front, middle and back of the green, plus hazards and layups across 43,000+ preloaded courses. It’s also designed to stay comfortable through long rounds with a lightweight 42 g build, and it supports up to 15 hours of battery in GPS Mode (using default display settings: gesture wake-up in Smartwatch mode and always-on while golfing).
Display
A 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen display (390 x 390 pixels) puts essential golf information front and center. Yardages, hazard details, and layup distances are easy to reference during play, with a color display and large font option for quick checks when lining up a shot.
Training
The Approach® S44 makes it simple to keep a digital scorecard during the round. After play, scores can be uploaded to the Garmin Golf™ app for advanced stat tracking and handicap calculation, helping golfers review performance over time with compatible app support.
Connectivity
Beyond the course, the watch supports Daily Smart Features such as Smart Notifications when paired with a compatible iPhone® or Android™ smartphone. It also includes tools like Calendar, Weather forecasts, Find My Phone, and passcode support, along with realtime settings sync with Garmin Connect™ mobile.
Approach® S44 is built to deliver the core numbers golfers use most. It provides distance to the front, middle and back of the green, along with yardage to layups and doglegs.
For golfers who want deeper course detail, Approach® S44 supports enhanced features with a Garmin Golf membership. Membership-enabled capabilities include full vector map, PlaysLike distance, touch-targeting to see distance to any point, Green Contours, and enhanced CourseView maps of every hole. These options add more context for planning shots, especially on unfamiliar courses.
This configuration pairs an anodized aluminum bezel with a black silicone band and a Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 lens. The 43 x 43 x 11.4 mm case fits wrists with a circumference of 125-202 mm, and the watch weighs 42 g for all-day comfort. It’s rated to 5 ATM and uses Quick Release bands (20 mm, Industry standard) for easy strap changes.
