The Garmin fēnix® 8 – 43 mm, AMOLED in Sapphire, Soft Gold with Fog Gray/Dark Sandstone Silicone Band is a premium multisport GPS smartwatch designed for serious athletes and adventurers who want big capability in a compact fit. Its bright AMOLED display and multi-band GPS support training, exploration and everyday wear with detailed on-wrist data.
Beyond sports tracking, this configuration adds practical tools for demanding conditions, including a built-in LED flashlight and a built-in speaker and microphone for voice features when paired to a smartphone. With dive capability and a 10 ATM water rating, it’s built for days that move from workouts to the outdoors and into the water, while offering up to 10 days of battery life in smartwatch mode (4 days always-on).
Connectivity
The built-in speaker and microphone enable phone calls from the watch when it’s paired to a smartphone. It also supports voice control, including off-grid voice commands for watch functions, plus the option to use a smartphone’s voice assistant to handle tasks such as replying to text messages.
Training
A built-in LED flashlight provides convenient illumination with variable light intensities and a red safety light to help maintain awareness after dark. For runners, a strobe mode can match running cadence, making it useful for early-morning starts, late finishes and low-light training.
Health
Training readiness helps guide day-to-day effort by factoring in sleep quality, recovery and training load. Additional performance tools include training status, endurance score, recovery time and daily suggested workouts that adapt after every run or ride to keep training plans aligned with progress.
Built for demanding use, the fēnix® 8 – 43 mm, AMOLED is dive-rated and built with leakproof buttons and a metal sensor guard cover. It’s tested to U.S. military standards for thermal, shock and water resistance. This configuration is sized for smaller wrists at 43 x 43 x 13.8 mm and pairs a silicone band with a premium look for daily wear and hard training alike.
On-wrist navigation supports confident movement on roads, trails and beyond. Dynamic round-trip routing suggests routes when a distance goal is entered and helps guide the return. The watch also supports TopoActive maps with terrain contours, preloaded golf course maps and preloaded ski resort maps. Courses can be created or found in the Garmin Connect™ smart-device app, synced from third-party platforms and followed with turn-by-turn directions.
With a 40-meter dive rating and a depth sensor rated yes (to 40 m), the watch supports scuba and apnea dive activities. Dive features include a Bühlmann ZHL-16c with Gradient Factors decompression model, Nitrox support (21-40% Oxygen), a 3-axis dive compass and vibration-only alerts and alarms. It can automatically save dive entry and exit locations, sync a dive log to the Garmin Dive™ Mobile app and keep dive settings in sync.
