The Garmin GPSMAP® 65s (Multi-Band GPS Handheld with Sensors) is a rugged handheld GPS device built for navigating demanding terrain with a clear 2.6” color display and preloaded mapping. With multi-band frequency support and expanded GNSS compatibility, it’s designed to help deliver precise positioning when signals are weak or reflected.
It comes ready for adventures across the U.S. and Canada with routable TopoActive maps, plus built-in ABC sensors to support navigation decisions in the field. Wireless connectivity adds convenient tools like smart notifications when paired with a compatible device, and Garmin Explore™ app and website compatibility helps plan, sync and review trips. In GPS mode, it offers up to 16 hours of battery life using 2 AA batteries (not included).
GPSMAP® 65s uses multi-band frequency support and expanded GNSS satellite support to help improve position accuracy, especially in areas where signals can be reflected, weak or typically do not penetrate. It can access multiple satellite systems, including GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO and QZSS, to track in challenging environments.
Preloaded routable TopoActive maps for the U.S. and Canada help guide adventures with terrain contours, topographic elevations and a wide range of geographic features. The mapping also includes detailed hydrographic features and searchable points of interest such as parks, campgrounds, scenic lookouts and picnic sites.
Built-in ABC sensors add useful field data while navigating: an altimeter provides elevation data, a barometer helps monitor weather, and a tilt-compensated 3-axis electronic compass supports heading information. These sensors are designed to help keep orientation and decision-making on track across varied terrain.
When the route runs through forests, canyons or other complex environments, GPSMAP® 65s is built to keep tracking with expanded GNSS support and a high-sensitivity receiver. It accesses multiple global navigation satellite systems, including GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO and QZSS, and combines that with multi-band frequency support to help maintain more consistent positioning when signals are challenged by reflection or reduced penetration.
Garmin Explore™ app and website compatibility makes it easier to manage adventures before, during and after a trip. GPSMAP® 65s can sync waypoints, routes and tracks for planning and organization, and it can also be used to review completed activities while still in the field. This workflow is designed for users who want their handheld to stay aligned with a larger trip plan rather than keeping everything only on the device.
With wireless connectivity via BLUETOOTH® and ANT+®, GPSMAP® 65s supports smart notifications on the handheld when paired with a compatible device, helping keep important messages and alerts accessible without pulling out a phone. It also pairs with Garmin Connect™ mobile and supports VIRB® Remote, extending how the handheld can integrate into an outdoor electronics setup while on the move.
