The HJC i72 Shard is a full-face motorcycle helmet built on the i72 platform with sharp, angular Shard graphics for a clean street and touring look. It combines an APC Advanced Polycarbonate Compound shell with a 3-shell construction approach to help dial in fit across the size range.
For changing light, the integrated distortion-free HJ-V12 sun shield adds quick eye coverage. Up front, the Pinlock Ready HJ-52 face shield is designed for clear vision with an anti-scratch coating, 99% UV protection, and Optical Class 1 clarity. Inside, a moisture-wicking, quick-drying antibacterial liner with OEKO-TEX materials, a glasses groove, and removable, washable pads keep comfort and daily usability front and center.
Construction
The i72 Shard uses an APC Advanced Polycarbonate Compound shell in a lightweight full-face design. A 3-shell construction is used to help optimize fit across the helmet’s size range. A Double D-Ring closure rounds out the retention system with a secure, traditional strap setup.
Shield
The Pinlock Ready HJ-52 shield is built for everyday road use with 99% UV protection, an anti-scratch coating, and Optical Class 1 clarity intended to minimize distortion. Behind it, the integrated HJ-V12 sun shield is described as distortion-free for convenient coverage when lighting conditions change.
Ventilation
Airflow is managed by the ACS Advanced Channeling Ventilation System, using 5 intake and 2 exhaust vents to move air through the helmet. The interior is moisture-wicking, quick-drying, and antibacterial, using OEKO-TEX materials, with removable and washable crown and cheek pads plus interchangeable cheek pads across all sizes and a built-in glasses groove.
Ventilation
HJC’s ACS Advanced Channeling Ventilation System is configured with 5 intake and 2 exhaust vents to promote airflow throughout the helmet. This layout is designed to bring fresh air in and help move warm air out, supporting comfort during street commuting or longer touring miles where conditions can change over the course of a ride.
Shield
The i72 Shard is equipped with an HJ-52 face shield that combines an anti-scratch coating with 99% UV protection and Optical Class 1 clarity for minimal distortion. The shield is Pinlock Ready to accept a Pinlock insert. A Pinlock anti-fog lens is included with this helmet, helping set it up for variable weather and temperature swings.
Comfort
Inside, the helmet uses a moisture-wicking, quick-drying antibacterial interior made with OEKO-TEX materials. The crown and cheek pads are removable and washable, and the cheek pads are interchangeable across all sizes to support fit tuning. An integrated glasses groove is built in to better accommodate riders who wear eyewear.
