The HJC i80 Imes is a modular adventure-touring helmet built for riders who want one setup that can adapt across long-distance travel and mixed conditions. Its modular chin bar makes it easy to switch between open-face and full-face use, while the peak can be removed when a more aerodynamic profile is preferred.
For visibility, the i80 uses a Pinlock-ready HJ-44 shield and adds an internal HJ-V12 dark smoke sun shield to help manage changing light.
Aerodynamics
Designed as an adventure-touring modular, the i80 uses a rotational chinbar to support quick transitions between open-face and full-face modes. A removable peak lets the helmet be configured to match the ride, including switching to a more aerodynamic profile when the peak is taken off.
Shield
The i80 is equipped with a Pinlock-ready HJ-44 shield and an internal HJ-V12 dark smoke sun shield for glare reduction. The adjustable sun shield mechanism extends by 8mm, and the shield ratchet system is designed for quick, simple, secure adjustments as light and conditions change.
Comfort
HJC’s Advanced Channeling Ventilation System is designed to move air front to back, using top vents and two-step toggle lower vents to help manage airflow. Inside, the crown liner, cheek pads, and chin vent filter are removable and washable for easier upkeep over long rides.
Construction
The i80 is built around an Advanced Polycarbonate Composite Shell. HJC describes the shell as an advanced polycarbonate compound made by combining high-grade polycarbonate and ABS, with the goal of maintaining a lightweight design. Practical fit details include grooves tailored for eyeglass wearers to help support a secure, comfortable fit for riders who wear glasses.
Ventilation
For long stretches in changing weather, the i80’s Advanced Channeling Ventilation System is designed to help flush heat and humidity with full front-to-back airflow. It uses top vents along with two-step toggle lower vents, giving riders more precise control over intake and circulation depending on speed, temperature, and ride duration.
Shield
The i80 Imes includes a Pinlock® HJ-44 Lens Insert (DKS579) to pair with the Pinlock-ready HJ-44 shield, helping support clearer vision when conditions can lead to fogging. It also includes a chin curtain, which can be installed to tailor the helmet’s feel around the chin area.
