HJC · i80 · Modular
The HJC i80 Snow is a modular helmet built around the i80 platform and tuned for cold-weather and snow riding. The Snow graphic is offered in Black, Nardo Grey, and Semi-Flat Black, with a wide size range for different riders.
This snow-optimized design adds a rotational chin bar with an integrated vent hood to help manage oncoming snow, plus an integrated breath box that ties into HJC’s ACS Advanced Channeling Ventilation System to support defogging in freezing conditions. It is Bluetooth-ready (communication unit sold separately) and meets DOT FMVSS NO.218.
Safety Design
Built on the i80 modular platform, the i80 Snow uses an advanced polycarbonate composite shell and a rotational chin bar designed for winter use. The chin bar integrates a vent hood intended to help deflect snow, and the helmet is certified to DOT FMVSS NO.218. A micro buckle chinstrap completes the everyday-friendly closure setup.
Shield
The shield system is set up for cold-weather visibility, with a quick ratchet shield locking system and a longer visor tab designed for operation with winter gloves. It is compatible with HJ-49P electric or HJ-49L dual-lens shield options. A wind tunnel tested peak visor is paired with an integrated HJ-V12 sun shield, with amber and dark smoke options.
Comfort
Inside, the i80 Snow uses a 3D-contour interior neck roll and a moisture-wicking, quick-dry, anti-bacterial interior aimed at staying fresher through winter riding. Crown and cheek pads are removable and washable, and eyeglass-compatible interior grooves support riders who wear glasses. The helmet is Bluetooth-ready for an optional communication unit (sold separately).
Ventilation
For freezing conditions, the i80 Snow integrates a breath box designed to connect directly to the ventilation system to help manage moisture and support defogging. The breath box is adjustable, allowing airflow and sealing to be tuned to the day’s weather. The helmet also includes an adjustable breath guard and a chin curtain, helping riders tailor the lower-front area for winter comfort and airflow control.
Comfort
HJC’s ACS Advanced Channeling Ventilation System is used to move air through the helmet, working with the snow-focused front design to help manage heat and moisture during cold rides. The lower vent is simplified to make operation easier with winter gloves. A washable mesh chin vent filter is included in the vent area to support ongoing maintenance through changing winter conditions.
Construction
Fit is supported with three shell sizes and five liner sizes, helping cover a broad range of riders without relying on a single shell across the lineup. Weight is listed at 3.93 lbs / 1785 grams (approx, based on size medium solid color).
