The HJC RPHA 71 Carbon Cano is a full-face, carbon sport-touring helmet built for a wide range of riding, from daily city commutes to long cross-country trips. Its compact, lightweight design focuses on aerodynamic performance and a controlled airflow layout to help keep the ride stable and comfortable at speed.
This helmet features a Pinlock-ready HJ-40 visor system with an anti-scratch coating and 99% UV protection, plus an internal multi-step sun shield for on-the-fly glare control. It is also Smart HJC ready for 11B, 21B, and 50B Bluetooth systems (sold separately), making it a strong choice for riders who want a clean, integrated communication setup.
Construction
RPHA 71 Carbon uses a carbon fiber shell described by HJC as having high elasticity and impact dispersion while remaining ultra-lightweight. Carbon-exclusive finishing touches include gunmetal-colored vent frames and a gold anodized aluminum D-ring, giving the helmet a distinct premium look while supporting its sport-touring intent.
Ventilation
An aerodynamic shell structure is designed to reduce air resistance and support high-speed stability. The ventilation layout runs front to back with two intake vents and two exhaust vents, and the adjustable ventilation system is intended to reduce fogging, noise, and drag when riding. A front edge spoiler helps reduce noise and air turbulence.
Shield
The HJ-40 visor is Pinlock-ready and includes an anti-scratch coating and 99% UV protection. A quick, secure visor ratchet system is paired with a push-release visor lock for straightforward operation. For changing light, the helmet adds an adjustable 3-step HJ-V12 sun visor, with a dark smoke sun shield pre-installed.
Communication
The RPHA 71 is designed to be Smart HJC ready for 11B, 21B, and 50B Bluetooth systems (sold separately). This built-in readiness is intended to keep the helmet’s profile clean while allowing riders to add communication and entertainment features when desired, supporting a hands-free experience on commutes or longer touring days.
Shield
To round out the riding setup, the helmet includes a Pinlock insert, plus a chin curtain and breath deflector. Combined with the helmet’s adjustable ventilation system, these included items help manage airflow and reduce conditions that can lead to fogging, while also complementing the helmet’s focus on comfort across changing speeds and weather.
Comfort
For day-to-day usability, the interior is designed to be easy to keep fresh. The crown and cheek pads are removable and washable, allowing the fit and contact areas to be cleaned after hot-weather rides or extended travel. This maintenance-friendly approach supports long-term comfort for riders who put consistent miles on a sport-touring helmet.
