The HJC RPHA 71 Pinna is a full-face motorcycle helmet built for everyday riding and sport-touring, covering everything from city commutes to longer cross-country days. It’s designed as a compact, lightweight package with an aerodynamic shell shape aimed at stability and a smoother ride feel at speed.
This helmet pairs a Pinlock-ready HJ-40 visor system with a built-in sun shield, plus an adjustable ventilation setup intended to help manage airflow, fogging, noise, and drag. Inside, the crown and cheek pads are removable and washable, and the helmet includes a Pinlock, chin curtain, and breath deflector. It is DOT Approved.
Construction
The RPHA 71 uses HJC’s Premium Integrated Matrix (P.I.M.) construction. For emergency situations, it includes an emergency kit with removable cheek pads designed to support quick removal when needed. DOT Approved standards are listed in the specifications.
Shield
A Pinlock-ready HJ-40 visor is paired with an anti-scratch coating and 99% UV protection. The visor ratchet system is designed for quick, secure adjustments, and a push-release visor lock adds extra retention. A dynamic multi-step sun shield is built in, with a dark smoke sun shield pre-installed, plus an adjustable 3-step HJ-V12 sun visor position.
Ventilation
Ventilation is handled through maximum performance top and low vents, backed by an adjustable ventilation system intended to reduce fogging, noise, and drag while riding. A front edge spoiler is designed to cut down on noise and air turbulence, supporting the helmet’s aerodynamic focus for sport-touring and daily use.
Construction
The RPHA 71 is engineered around aerodynamic performance with a shell structure shaped to reduce air resistance for added stability at higher speeds. HJC describes the construction as using high-performance materials infused with epoxy resin and fiber tissue, materials also used in aircraft industry and racing applications. The goal of the overall design is a smoother, more controlled ride feel across a wide range of riding, from commuting to touring.
Communication
The RPHA 71 is built to be Smart HJC ready for integration with 11B, 21B, and 50B Bluetooth systems (sold separately). This design supports adding communication and entertainment features without changing the helmet’s core fit and function, helping riders keep a hands-free setup for conversation and audio while on the road.
