Across the i91 line, HJC focuses on a lightweight feel, enhanced aerodynamics for stability, and comfort features meant for longer stints in the saddle. The i91 Carst uses an Advanced Polycarbonate Compound (APC) shell and includes glasses-friendly grooves for riders who wear eyewear. A Pinlock-Ready HJ-33 visor with anti-scratch coating and 99% UV protection, plus an adjustable HJ-V12 sunshield, help manage changing light and weather conditions. DOT Approved.
Construction
The i91 is built with an Advanced Polycarbonate Compound (APC) shell that blends high-grade polycarbonate and ABS. HJC pairs that shell design with glasses-accommodating grooves, helping eyewear sit comfortably without fighting the helmet fit. The chin strap uses a Double D-Ring with retention strap, and the helmet is offered in 4 Shell Sizes for a more consistent fit across the size range.
Shield
For everyday visibility, the i91 uses a Pinlock-Ready HJ-33 visor with 99% UV protection and an anti-scratch coating to help maintain clarity. Inside, the adjustable HJ-V12 sunshield adds another option for bright conditions and also features an anti-scratch coating. The specifications list the Pinlock® HJ-33 Lens Insert (DKS267) for fog management.
Comfort
Comfort and fit are supported by a fully removable interior designed for a secure, dialed-in feel. The i91 also uses all sizes interchangeable cheek pads, giving riders additional flexibility when fine-tuning fit. It is Smart HJC ready for 11B, 21B, and 50B Bluetooth communication systems (sold separately), keeping the helmet set up for optional on-road connectivity.

The i91’s visor package is designed around practical road use in mixed light. The Pinlock-Ready HJ-33 visor adds 99% UV protection and an anti-scratch coating, and it’s set up to accept the Pinlock® HJ-33 Lens Insert (DKS267). For bright days or shifting sun angles, the adjustable HJ-V12 sunshield provides an additional tinted layer behind the main visor, also finished with an anti-scratch coating to support long-term clarity.
Communication
The i91 is Smart HJC ready, with fitment intended for the 11B, 21B, and 50B Bluetooth communication systems (sold separately). This design lets riders add optional communication without changing the helmet’s core setup, supporting hands-free conversation, navigation prompts, and music while on the move. It’s a useful match for commuting routines and longer touring days where staying connected can make the ride more convenient.
