Garmin · Wearables & Smartwatches
The Garmin MARQ® Commander (Gen 2) - Carbon Edition in the Modern Tool Watch configuration is a premium GPS smartwatch built for demanding training, navigation, and tactical use. Its 46 mm fused carbon fiber case with titanium rear cover is paired with a domed sapphire crystal lens and an AMOLED (always-on) touchscreen backed up by traditional button controls.
This watch balances mission-focused tools such as stealth mode, kill switch, night vision capability, and an integrated ballistics solver with everyday performance features like smart notifications (when paired with a compatible smartphone), music support, and advanced training insights. With 10 ATM water rating, 32 GB of memory, and battery life up to 16 days in smartwatch mode, it’s designed to stay ready from daily wear to long days in the field.
Connectivity
Stealth mode keeps the watch operational while stopping GPS position storage/sharing and disabling wireless connectivity and communication. For additional security, the kill switch can wipe the device of all user memory. Night vision capability supports quick switching between day and night views on a display readable by night vision goggles.
Design
A pre-installed Applied Ballistics® Ultralite solver delivers long-range aiming solutions through the AB Synapse™ – Garmin app. Designed for field use, it helps provide aiming support without adding separate hardware, keeping critical data accessible from the wrist when conditions demand fast decisions.
Battery
A rechargeable lithium ion battery supports extended wear and long sessions. Expect up to 16 days in smartwatch mode and up to 42 hours in GPS Only, with additional battery options listed in the specifications below. The AMOLED (always-on) display keeps key data visible while on the move.
Design
Engineered as a modern tool watch, this Carbon Edition pairs an ultradurable fused carbon fiber case with a titanium (grade 5)/fused carbon fiber bezel and domed sapphire crystal lens. The 46 x 15 mm build combines an AMOLED (always-on) touchscreen with traditional button controls for confident operation. It’s finished with a Nylon (Jacquard weave) strap and is QuickFit® watch band compatible (22 mm), with fit details provided in the specifications below.
Navigation
Multi-band GPS with SatIQ™ technology is designed to optimize positioning accuracy while managing battery life. On-watch navigation is supported by ABC sensors, including an altimeter, barometer, and 3-axis electronic compass, plus mapping tools such as ClimbPro™ and NextFork™ navigation. Preloaded TopoActive maps help keep exploration on track, with downloadable cartography support and additional maps available via Wi-Fi® connectivity.
Training
For structured progress, the watch includes training readiness, training status, recovery time guidance, VO2 Max, real-time stamina, and grade-adjusted pace. Daily suggested workouts and Garmin Coach plans are set up in the Garmin Connect app, with workouts adapting based on performance and recovery. Health and wellness tracking includes wrist-based heart rate, sleep score and advanced sleep monitoring, stress tracking, and HRV status to help interpret how the body responds to training and daily life.
