The Garmin Rino® 700 (2-Way Radio/GPS Navigator configuration) combines handheld GPS navigation with a GMRS two-way radio for outdoor users who want to stay oriented and connected in the field. It supports GPS and GLONASS for positioning and adds a GPS compass (while moving) to help keep direction on track.
Built for the trail, it carries an IPX7 water rating and uses a monochrome; 4-level gray display with 128 x 160 pixels resolution. With an internal lithium-ion battery pack rated up to 13 hours, it’s a practical option for day adventures where reliable navigation features and radio communication belong in one device.
Rino® 700 operates on GMRS with 22 channels and supports 38 (CTCSS) and 83 (DCS) squelch codes. It also includes VOX (voice activation) and is rated for up to 20 miles over GMRS. For group outings, location reporting can send and receive GPS positions to help keep track of others.
A high-sensitivity receiver works with GPS and GLONASS, helping deliver positioning performance suited to backcountry travel. The unit also includes a GPS compass (while moving), supporting on-the-go orientation when navigating between points using point-to-point navigation.
With internal memory only (no external memory storage), Rino® 700 still provides robust on-device organization: 1000 waypoints/favorites/locations, 200 tracks, and 50 routes. The navigation track log supports 10000 points and 100 saved tracks, making it easier to record and revisit trips.
Sized at 2.38” x 7.02” x 1.74” (6.0 x 17.8 x 4.4 cm) and weighing 8.6 oz (268 g), Rino® 700 is built as a carry-ready handheld. An IPX7 water rating helps it handle wet conditions, while the acrylic lens protects the display. Charging and data connections are handled through a high speed mini USB interface.
Rino® 700 supports point-to-point navigation and includes a basemap to get started. It also offers outdoor-focused tools such as fish forecast, sun and moon information, and geocaching-friendly functionality. With ample waypoint, route, and track capacity, it’s set up for users who want to save key locations and maintain a record of where they’ve been.
For coordination in the outdoors, Rino® 700 pairs GPS navigation with radio features in one device. It can store 50 contacts with 2000 track points each, and location reporting helps users send and receive GPS positions. The radio operates with 5.0 watts, GMRS transmit power, supporting clear group communication alongside navigation.
