The HJC RPHA 31 is an open-face motorcycle helmet built for riders who want a premium feel with a focus on aerodynamic performance. Designed to help keep the ride smooth and composed, it’s suited to everything from city cruising to longer weekend outings where comfort and reduced distractions matter.
Its shell is shaped to manage airflow and reduce air resistance, while the Pinlock Ready HJ-39 Visor adds everyday practicality with UV protection and an anti-scratch coating. A Dynamic Multi-Step Dark Smoke sun shield is installed for quick relief from changing light, and the interior uses advanced anti-bacterial fabric for moisture wicking and quick drying. It’s also Smart HJC ready for select Bluetooth systems (sold separately).
Aerodynamics
RPHA 31 is engineered around an aerodynamic shell structure intended to reduce air resistance and help maintain stability at speed. The design approach draws on advanced materials associated with aircraft and racing applications, with the goal of keeping airflow smooth and the ride feel steady during everything from daily commutes to longer, faster stretches.
Shield
The helmet uses a Pinlock Ready HJ-39 Visor with 99% UV protection and an anti-scratch coating for clear visibility over time. A 2-way pivot ratchet system is designed for smooth movement and improved sealing. A visor deflector and holder are used to help minimize noise, reduce wind turbulence, and keep the visor securely positioned. A Dynamic Multi-Step Dark Smoke sun shield comes installed.
Comfort
Inside, the RPHA 31 features advanced anti-bacterial fabric designed for enhanced moisture wicking and quick drying function. Fit tuning is supported with interchangeable cheek pads. For riders who wear eyewear, the cheek pads include a built-in groove intended to accommodate glasses more comfortably during longer rides.
Construction
RPHA 31 is built with HJC’s Premium Integrated Matrix (P.I.M.) structure. This construction is presented as a way to enhance impact protection while keeping the helmet lightweight, and it’s also described as supporting durability and uniform stability. The result is a focused approach to a secure, comfortable fit that’s intended to feel consistent across a wide range of riding conditions.
Communication
This readiness is aimed at riders who want the option to add onboard connectivity for communication, navigation prompts, or audio without changing the helmet’s core fit and feel.
Ventilation
The ventilation system is designed with a bypass air channel and maximum air intake to help manage airflow through the helmet. Combined with the interior’s moisture-wicking, quick-drying fabric, this setup is intended to support comfort across varying temperatures and effort levels, from stop-and-go city riding to longer stretches on the open road.
