The HJC RPHA 91 is a modular motorcycle helmet built with touring riders in mind, focusing on long-ride comfort and modern functionality. It uses HJC’s Premium Integrated Matrix (P.I.M.) construction and pairs it with a streamlined modular shape intended to feel balanced on extended highway miles.
For day-long road time, the RPHA 91 adds noise-focused details like a neckroll system and a 2-way pivot chin bar designed to reduce wind noise and air drag while keeping a compact profile when raised. It also brings practical vision features to changing conditions, including a Pinlock-ready HJ-37 shield and an internal sun shield, with Pinlock, a chin curtain, and a breath deflector included.
Construction
The RPHA 91 is built around HJC’s Premium Integrated Matrix (P.I.M.) structure. This construction is described as blending durable materials for uniform stability and durability while keeping overall weight in check. The helmet is also DOT Approved (see specifications below).
Shield
A quick, simple visor ratchet system is designed to make shield changes straightforward. The Pinlock-ready HJ-37 visor is anti-scratch coated, provides 99% UV protection, and accepts the Pinlock® HJ-37 Lens Insert (DKS465). A dynamic multi-step, dark smoke sun shield comes pre-installed for adjustable glare control.
Comfort
Inside, the RPHA 91 uses an antibacterial interior with removable and washable crown and cheek pads to support day-to-day touring use. For wind management, it features maximum performance top and low vents, plus a neckroll system intended to help reduce wind noise. The 2-way pivot chin bar is designed to lower wind noise and air drag.
Aerodynamics
The RPHA 91’s shell is designed with aerodynamics as a priority, using high-performance materials infused with epoxy resin and fiber tissue. HJC describes the shape as inspired by aircraft industry and racing, aiming to reduce air resistance and improve stability at speed. Along with its streamlined modular profile, this design focus supports a smoother ride feel on longer stretches where consistent airflow and helmet balance matter most.
Communication
The RPHA 91 is Smart HJC ready for integration with the 11B, 21B, and 50B Bluetooth systems (sold separately). This built-in readiness is intended for riders who want a clean setup for communication and connectivity while touring. Because the compatible units are optional, the helmet can be used as-is or paired with the preferred Smart HJC system when needed.
