The SHOEI Neotec 3 Sharpen is a modular, flip-up motorcycle helmet built for riders who split their time between street and touring, with an Adventure rating of 5 of 10. The CNS-3C shield uses a center locking mechanism intended to keep it securely in place. SHOEI also redesigned the shield shape to improve sealing against wind and noise while helping reduce optical distortion. For changing light, the helmet includes the QSV-2 sun visor, developed for optical precision and smooth operation.
A Defogger Ventilation System and SHOEI’s high-performance ventilation design work together with multiple intake and exhaust points. Improved, closable air intakes include an insect filter, with closable inlets on the brow and chin and outlets at the rear. The chin strap uses a Stainless Steel Micro Ratchet System for consistent adjustment.
Construction
The Neotec 3 uses SHOEI’s AIM shell construction, built from layers of organic fiber and multi-composite fiber. Inside, an EPS liner system with multiple densities uses EPS elements with varying levels of shock absorption, arranged to provide targeted coverage in key areas. This shell-and-liner structure is part of the helmet’s overall design approach for street and touring use.
Shield
Integrated into the helmet, the QSV-2 sun visor is designed around optical precision to help maintain clear vision with minimal distortion. SHOEI pairs that optical focus with a smooth-handling mechanism, making it easy to operate as lighting conditions change. It’s a practical feature for long days that include bright sun, shade, and everything in between.
Communication
SHOEI also references compatibility with the SRL3 communication system from SENA, which is sold separately, emphasizing minimal device size and discreet appearance while supporting features such as Bluetooth 5.0.
