The SHOEI RF-1400 Fearless is a full-face motorcycle helmet built for riders who prioritize a streamlined shape, controlled airflow, and long-ride comfort. Construction
The RF-1400 Fearless uses a Multi-Ply Matrix AIM+ shell paired with a Dual Density EPS liner. The RF-1400 model also incorporates the Emergency Quick Release System (E.Q.R.S.), a rider-focused feature that supports helmet removal procedures when needed. Certification is listed as Snell M2025D and DOT-218 Approved.
Shield
A CWR-F2 shield is specified for the RF-1400 Fearless. The RF-1400 model’s shield design combines a 2D flat outside surface with 3D shaping on the inside to support a more natural view. Vortex Generators on the shield sides and a center locking mechanism help manage airflow effects and distribute shield forces across both spring-loaded base plates.
Comfort
Comfort features start with the RF-1400’s 3D Max-Dry System II interior and a Dual Density EPS liner structure. The RF-1400 model’s cheek pads are designed with added volume at the bottom, with lower cheek pad fabric selected for a soft, durable feel and reduced wind noise. Ventilation
The RF-1400 model’s ventilation layout was refined using SHOEI’s in-house wind tunnel to balance cooling air and quiet. The center/forehead vent was repositioned and given an additional intake hole to increase the volume of air entering the helmet. At the back, an enlarged exhaust outlet vent is designed to use negative pressure at the rear of the helmet to help pull warm air out more effectively.
Aerodynamics
The RF-1400 model focuses on shell aerodynamics that help it move cleanly through the air while also reducing wind noise without eliminating important road sounds. Along with the shell shape, Vortex Generators work to reduce turbulence. The model also uses airtight window beading for a windproof seal, plus voluminous cheek pads and removable ear pads to help suppress internal noise while keeping the ride experience more informative.
Construction
The RF-1400 model’s shell profile is engineered with aerodynamics in mind. That attention to airflow supports stability through moving air and contributes to less wind noise while riding. This design approach also ties into other RF-1400 elements, including the shield’s side Vortex Generators and sealing details, which work together to manage air movement around the helmet at speed.
