Construction

Shield
A CWR-F2 face shield is specified for the RF-1400, and the model’s shield design includes a 2D outside surface with a 3D interior shape for optimized visibility. Side Vortex Generators and a center locking mechanism are part of the system, designed to manage airflow and distribute forces across the base plates.
Comfort
Inside, the RF-1400 combines a Dual Density EPS foundation with the 3D Max-Dry System II liner setup. The model’s newly shaped cheek pads add more volume at the bottom, and the lower cheek pad fabric is described as soft yet durable for a plush fit and feel during longer street and touring miles.
Vent placement and exhaust sizing on the RF-1400 were developed with SHOEI’s in-house wind tunnel to balance airflow and quiet. The center/forehead vent was relocated and given an additional intake hole to help increase the amount of cooling air entering the helmet. At the rear, an enlarged exhaust outlet vent is designed to better use negative pressure suction for improved hot-air expulsion.
The RF-1400’s shell shape is engineered to manage air movement around the helmet, contributing to a reduction in wind noise while still allowing the rider to hear informative road sounds. The model’s approach also includes Vortex Generators to reduce turbulence, airtight window beading for a windproof seal, and voluminous cheek pads with removable ear pads to help suppress internal noise.
The Hatsune Miku edition brings the RF-1400’s full-face design together with the Hatsune Miku TC-4 colorway, giving riders a bold visual option while keeping the same RF-1400 platform features and specifications.
