The SHOEI RF-1400 Ideograph is a full-face motorcycle helmet that combines the RF-1400 platform’s compact, lightweight design with a bold Ideograph graphic. Built for riders who prioritize Street riding and also want a capable option for Touring and Race use, it focuses on refined airflow management, aerodynamic shaping, and reduced wind turbulence for a quieter ride experience.
This helmet uses a Multi-Ply Matrix AIM+ shell and a Dual Density EPS liner, and it’s certified as Snell M2025D and DOT-218 Approved. A CWR-F2 shield system, plus included Pinlock® Evo Lens, Breath Guard, and Chin Curtain, help round out a well-equipped package for everyday miles and long days in the saddle.
Construction

Shield
A CWR-F2 shield is used with a 2D flat outer surface and 3D technology on the inside to support optimized visibility and a natural view. Vortex Generators on the sides of the shield are designed to aid aerodynamics and reduce wind noise, and a center locking mechanism helps distribute forces across spring-loaded base plates.
Comfort
Inside, the RF-1400 uses a 3D Max-Dry System II liner. The model’s cheek pads are designed with added volume at the bottom to increase comfort while also helping reduce wind noise, and the lower cheek pad fabric is described as soft yet durable for a plush fit and feel on longer rides.
Ventilation
The RF-1400 model’s ventilation layout was developed with SHOEI’s in-house wind tunnel work to balance airflow and quiet. The center/forehead vent was relocated and given an additional air intake hole to increase the volume of cooling air entering the helmet. At the rear, an enlarged exhaust outlet vent is designed to better use negative pressure suction to help pull hot air out.
Aerodynamics
The RF-1400 model emphasizes optimized shell aerodynamics to help the helmet move through air efficiently while contributing to reduced wind noise, without blocking important road sounds. Vortex Generators are also part of the design approach to reduce turbulence, and airtight window beading is intended to create a windproof seal around the shield opening.

The RF-1400 Ideograph brings distinctive styling to SHOEI’s RF-1400 full-face platform while keeping the same core model features riders look for in Street, Touring, and Race use.
