Construction

Shield
A CWR-F2 shield system is used on the RF-1400, combining a 2D flat outer surface with internal 3D shaping for optimized visibility and a natural view. Vortex Generators on the sides of the shield are designed to improve aerodynamics and help reduce wind noise, and a center locking mechanism helps distribute forces across both spring-loaded base plates.
Comfort
The RF-1400’s aerodynamic shell shape is intended to manage airflow while reducing wind noise without blocking informative road sounds. For fit feel, the model’s cheek pads are designed with additional volume at the bottom, and the lower cheek pad fabric is described as soft yet durable for a plush feel. A Chin Curtain is included.
Ventilation
Ventilation on the RF-1400 was refined using SHOEI’s in-house wind tunnel work to balance airflow and silence. The center/forehead vent was relocated and given an additional intake hole to help increase the amount of cooling air entering the helmet. At the rear, a new enlarged exhaust outlet vent is designed to better use negative-pressure suction to move hot air out of the helmet.
Aerodynamics
Shell aerodynamics on the RF-1400 are designed to help the helmet move through the air while contributing to reduced wind noise, without shutting out valuable road sounds. The model also uses Vortex Generators to help reduce turbulence. An airtight window beading is designed to create a windproof seal, while voluminous cheek pads and removable ear pads are intended to suppress internal noise for a calmer ride environment.
Construction
