The SHOEI RF-1400 Ramba Ral’s Bugu is a full-face motorcycle helmet that blends RF-1400 performance features with a graphic inspired by Gundam’s iconic Bugu mobile suit. Construction
The RF-1400 is built with SHOEI’s Multi-Ply Matrix AIM+ shell and a Dual Density EPS liner. Shield
A CWR-F2 shield is used on the RF-1400, combining a 2D flat outer surface with 3D shaping inside for optimized visibility and a natural view. Vortex Generators on the shield sides are designed to improve aerodynamics and help reduce wind noise, and a center locking mechanism is designed to distribute forces across spring-loaded base plates.
Comfort
The RF-1400 comfort package includes newly designed cheek pads with added volume at the bottom, intended to increase comfort while also helping reduce wind noise. SHOEI also specifies a soft yet durable lower cheek pad fabric for a plush fit and feel. The liner is listed as Dual Density EPS with a 3D Max-Dry System II.
Ventilation
Ventilation on the RF-1400 was developed using SHOEI’s in-house wind tunnel to help balance cooling airflow with quiet operation. The center/forehead vent was relocated and designed with an additional air intake hole to help increase the volume of cooling air entering the helmet. At the rear, an enlarged exhaust outlet vent is designed to better use negative pressure suction to help move hot air out.
Aerodynamics
The RF-1400’s shell aerodynamics are designed to help it move cleanly through the air while also contributing to reduced wind noise without shutting out valuable, informative road sounds. Additional noise-focused elements include Vortex Generators intended to reduce turbulence, airtight window beading designed to create a wind-resistant seal, plus voluminous cheek pads and removable ear pads to help suppress internal noise.
