Construction
The RF-1400 is constructed with SHOEI’s Multi-Ply Matrix AIM+ shell and a proprietary Dual-Layer/Multi-Density EPS liner. For assistive removal features, it’s equipped with the Emergency Quick Release System (E.Q.R.S.). Certification is listed as Snell M2025D and DOT-218 Approved.
Shield
The CWR-F2 shield combines a 2D flat outer surface with 3D shaping on the inside for a more natural view and a sharp profile. Vortex Generators on the sides of the shield are designed to support aerodynamics and reduce wind noise, and a center locking mechanism helps distribute closing forces across both spring-loaded base plates.
Comfort
Inside, the RF-1400 uses a 3D Max-Dry System II alongside its Dual Density EPS structure. The newly designed cheek pads add volume at the bottom to increase comfort and help reduce wind noise, and the lower cheek pad fabric is designed to be soft while staying durable for everyday street and touring use.
Ventilation on the RF-1400 was refined using SHOEI’s in-house wind tunnel to balance airflow and quiet. The center/forehead vent was relocated and given an additional intake hole to help increase the volume of cooling air entering the helmet. At the rear, a new enlarged exhaust outlet vent is shaped to take advantage of negative pressure suction, helping expel hot air more effectively.
The RF-1400’s shell shape is tuned for optimal aerodynamics, helping the helmet move cleanly through the air while contributing to reduced wind noise. SHOEI also incorporates Vortex Generators to reduce turbulence, and airtight window beading is designed to maintain a windproof seal at the shield opening. The result is a ride focused on calm airflow while still preserving important road sounds.
The RF-1400 platform emphasizes an aerodynamic exterior that supports both high-speed efficiency and a quieter ride environment. By focusing on how air travels over the helmet, the design works to reduce turbulence without isolating the rider from informative sounds on the road.
