The SHOEI RF-1400 Yagyo is a full-face motorcycle helmet that pairs the RF-1400 platform’s compact, lightweight design with an eye-catching, asymmetrical Yagyo TC-2 graphic. Built for riders who split time between street and touring (with solid race-focused capability reflected in the model’s ratings), it’s designed around balanced airflow, reduced wind noise, and a stable ride feel at speed.
Its Multi-Ply Matrix AIM+ shell works with a Dual Density EPS liner, while the CWR-F2 shield system adds a secure, refined interface for everyday riding. Comfort-focused interior materials and included anti-fog and weather-management pieces help keep the experience consistent across changing conditions.
Construction
The RF-1400 is built around SHOEI’s Multi-Ply Matrix AIM+ shell and a proprietary Dual-Layer/Multi-Density EPS liner. For added manageability in real-world use, it also incorporates the Emergency Quick Release System (E.Q.R.S.). Certification is listed as Snell M2025D and DOT-218 Approved.
Shield
A CWR-F2 shield is used with a 2D “flat” outer surface and 3D shaping on the inside to support a more natural view. Vortex Generators on the sides of the shield are designed to improve aerodynamics and help reduce wind noise, and the center locking mechanism is designed to spread forces across spring-loaded base plates.
Comfort
Inside, the RF-1400 uses a 3D Max-Dry System II alongside newly designed cheek pads that add volume toward the bottom for comfort and reduced wind noise. The lower cheek pad fabric is described as soft yet durable to support a plush feel during longer street and touring rides.
Ventilation
Ventilation on the RF-1400 was refined using SHOEI’s in-house wind tunnel work aimed at balancing airflow and silence. The center/forehead vent was relocated and given an additional air intake hole to help increase the volume of cooling air entering the helmet. At the rear, an enlarged exhaust outlet vent is designed to take advantage of negative pressure suction to help move hot air out.
Aerodynamics
The RF-1400’s shell shape is designed with aerodynamics in mind to help the helmet move through the air efficiently. SHOEI links this aerodynamic focus to a reduction in wind noise while still allowing the rider to hear the road’s informative sounds. Elements such as the shield’s side Vortex Generators are also intended to support stable airflow around the helmet at speed.
Comfort
Noise control on the RF-1400 is addressed through a combination of shell aerodynamics and integrated features intended to reduce turbulence. SHOEI cites Vortex Generators to help manage wind noise, along with airtight window beading designed to create a windproof seal. Inside, voluminous cheek pads and removable ear pads are intended to suppress internal noise without blocking essential road sounds.
