The Alpinestars SMX-Z Drystar Gloves are short-cuff Street riding gloves built around a supple full-grain goat leather chassis for a connected feel at the controls. They incorporate Alpinestars 100% waterproof Drystar performance membrane construction technology for all-weather use.
For protection-focused riders, the SMX-Z Drystar adds a hard knuckle protector along with suede side-hand reinforcements and palm reinforcement details designed to support grip and durability. Practical touches like touchscreen-compatible fingertips on the index finger and thumb help keep navigation and phone use simple without removing a glove.
These gloves use Alpinestars 100% waterproof Drystar performance membrane construction technology to support all-weather Street riding. The short-cuff layout keeps the fit streamlined while the leather chassis maintains a close, control-oriented feel for everyday rides when conditions can change.
A hard knuckle protector is integrated into the glove’s full-grain goat leather chassis. Additional reinforcement comes from suede on the side of the hand, plus palm reinforcements and a rolling palm construction on the pinky intended to add abrasion resistance in key contact areas.
Stretch material across the backhand and added stretch inserts are used to help dial in fit and comfort while riding. For convenience at stops, the index finger and thumb include a touchscreen-compatible fingertip area designed for use with smartphones and GPS systems.
Construction
The SMX-Z Drystar Gloves are certified to CE Level 1 KP — EN 13594 2015. Combined with their hard knuckle protector and reinforced side-hand and palm areas, the construction focuses on keeping a compact short-cuff glove ready for Street riding while maintaining a precise, control-friendly feel.
