The Warp 9 Talaria MX5 Rear Axle Kit is a complete rear-axle and axle-block upgrade engineered to address common weaknesses in the OEM MX5 rear axle system while making wheel removal, chain adjustment, and rear wheel alignment easier and more precise. A longer 12.9 steel axle with ED coated black corrosion protection pairs with redesigned, precision-fit axle blocks to eliminate unwanted movement and improve fit under load. The keyed axle-and-block design prevents axle rotation and allows wheel removal and installation using only a single 17mm socket. The kit also includes Grade 5 titanium chain adjuster bolts and matching titanium lock nuts for corrosion resistance and to help prevent rusted or seized adjusters.
The stock MX5 axle is too short to fully engage the OEM axle block on the nut side, and the OEM block bore can allow movement between the axle and block. This kit uses a completely redesigned axle and axle block system: the Warp 9 axle is longer than stock and works with custom axle blocks that feature a precision-fit bore matched to the axle diameter to eliminate slop.
A precision-keyed axle and block design prevents the axle from rotating in the blocks. That keyed interface simplifies maintenance by allowing rear wheel removal and installation using only a single 17mm socket, while also helping keep rear wheel alignment more consistent during service and adjustment.
The 6061T6 billet axle blocks include machined locating steps that interface directly with the ridges cast into the OEM swingarm for a more secure and accurate fit than stock. They also use a captive adjuster design, so turning the adjuster bolts positively moves the axle block forward or backward for smoother, more precise chain adjustments.
