The Garmin Tread® 2 6” Powersport Navigator is built for riders who want confident guidance on unpaved roads, trails, and snowmobile routes across supported areas in North America. Its 6” high-resolution touchscreen is glove-friendly and designed to stay readable in challenging conditions.
With preloaded topographic mapping and trail content, plus the ability to download subscription-free satellite imagery over Wi-Fi® technology, Tread 2 helps riders plan, follow, and share routes with less guesswork. It also adds on-device sensors for tough terrain, supports GPX file sharing through the Tread® app, and offers street navigation with spoken directions when it’s time to head back to town.
Durability
Tread® 2 is purpose-built for rugged off-road use, combining a glove-friendly touchscreen with protection designed for extreme conditions. It carries IP6X dust rating, IPX7 water rating, and a MIL-STD-810 drop rating, helping it stay ready for demanding dirt and snow adventures.
Navigation
Navigate unpaved roads and trails with turn-by-turn trail navigation using map content that includes OpenStreetMap™, U.S. Forest Service Motor Vehicle Use Maps, and Adventure Roads and Trails coverage across North America. For back-in-town travel, it can also provide spoken turn-by-turn directions with driver alerts such as sharp curves and speed changes.
Connectivity
Tread® 2 can download subscription-free satellite imagery directly to the device using Wi-Fi® technology, providing high-resolution overhead views of routes and terrain. For ongoing access to premium map content, it also supports Outdoor Maps+ (subscription required), including items such as slope angle and slope aspect.
Navigation
For off-road awareness, Tread® 2 includes built-in ABC sensors: an altimeter, barometer, compass, plus pitch/roll gauges. Positioning support includes GPS, Galileo, and 10 Hz multi-GNSS positioning. Together, these tools help support navigation and orientation when trails, terrain, and conditions get challenging.
Connectivity
When paired with a compatible smartphone and the Tread® app, Tread® 2 can sync waypoints, tracks, routes, and collections between devices. The app also enables features such as Group Ride Mobile for tracking friends, plus access to live services including traffic and weather. GPX files can be sent from a phone or third-party sources to the navigator, and shared with other riders using the Tread app.
Display
Tread® 2 includes rugged roll tube and handlebar mount options to fit many powersport setups. It can also be paired with compatible Garmin devices and accessories, including inReach® devices for two-way text messaging, interactive SOS and weather, a Garmin PowerSwitch™ digital switch box for on-screen control of 12-volt electronics, and a compatible Garmin GPS dog tracker for dog tracking within range on the map display.
