The Garmin Tread® XL - Baja Chase Edition in the 10" Off-Road Chase Navigator configuration is a rugged off-road navigator built for high-speed chase support and coordination. Designed to help keep teams on course and connected, it combines a large ultrabright touchscreen with tools for importing and viewing race GPX files, including start and end points, virtual checkpoints, pit locations, and race mile markers.
With built-in inReach® technology for team tracking and messaging using global satellite coverage, it’s well suited to chase trucks supporting a race vehicle. A heavy-duty suction cup mount and portable mounting hardware make it easy to move from one support vehicle to another, while the IP67-rated build and MIL-STD-810 drop rating are tailored for demanding desert and off-road environments.
Connectivity
Team tracking leverages built-in inReach® technology to show live positions of a race vehicle and chase truck with global satellite coverage, plus two-way messaging for coordinating support and repairs. Team tracking requires an active inReach Flex Team subscription, and availability is subject to regulations or prohibitions in some jurisdictions.
Training
GPX course file compatibility helps teams prepare ahead of time by importing course data to view start and end, the racetrack line, virtual checkpoints, pit locations, and race mile markers. This on-screen course context is built to support fast decisions when terrain, timing, and logistics change.
Display
A 10.1" diagonal high brightness HD color TFT display delivers an ultrabright multi-touch viewing experience with a glove-friendly touchscreen. The device is built for all-terrain use with IP67-rated dust and water-resistance, an IP6X dust rating, and a MIL-STD-810 drop rating.
Navigation
Chase mode is designed for support vehicles that need to keep tabs on a race vehicle in motion. When enabled, the device can track the race vehicle with real-time updates shown directly on the map, helping a chase crew anticipate where the team is heading and coordinate meetups at pits, checkpoints, or other key locations defined in the course data.
Design
This Baja Chase Edition is set up for quick moves between trucks. It includes a heavy-duty suction cup mount along with a locking magnet-assisted mount and vehicle power cable, helping streamline handoffs from one chase vehicle to another without rebuilding a full install. The dual-orientation display supports flexible placement to suit different dashboards and cab layouts.
Connectivity
With 128 GB of internal storage and support for external memory storage via microSD™ card (not included), the device is built to handle extensive mapping and ride data. It supports preloaded street maps, preloaded topographical maps, high-definition 3D terrain, and downloadable satellite imagery (BirdsEye), including satellite imagery for the North Baja Peninsula preloaded on the device. Wi-Fi® map and software updates are supported for ongoing maintenance.
