Materials
This kit includes premium packing material intended to replace worn or dirty muffler packing. Yoshimura states that dirty packing can restrict airflow from the motor, which can lead to a loss of power and degradation of sound. Fresh packing helps restore freer airflow and improves exhaust sound.

To support a complete repack job, the kit includes Stainless Rivets (C3-RIVET x 16 QTY) and Stainless Rivets (C4-RIVET x 2 QTY), along with Rivet Bands (LC4.5S x 2 QTY) and Rivet Bands (LC5.0RL x 1 QTY).
Installation
Stainless Spring Hooks (YRD5SH x 2 QTY) are included to help handle the spring hardware during the repacking process. They’re part of what makes this kit a purpose-built service package for maintaining an RS-5 muffler at recommended intervals.
